CBIS PARTICIPATES IN THE 2018 VISION OF THE CHILD PROGRAMME (VOTC) SPECIAL EDITION.
Teniola Coker, a Year 11 student is participating in the 2018 Vision of The Child (VoTC) Special Edition. The programme is designed to tackle drug abuse amongst the young and old. The project involves 17 Schools, 17 Students, 17 Research Areas and 17 Creative Presentations. Topics to be deliberated on include: Sensitization on the nature of drug use, Drug Dependency, Prevention, Treatment and Care (DPTC). The project is supported by European Union and United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). The next stage of the contest will be held on Tuesday, 20th November 2018 and Professor Wole Soyinka will be in attendance.
BRITISH COUNCIL’S ‘YOUR WORLD’ COMPETITION:
CBIS students are participating in a very exciting worldwide competition being organized by the British Council and titled ‘Your World’ Competition. This is a film-making competition where teams of three to five students make a short video of up to three minutes on “their world” as they experience it. The theme for this year is ‘Healthy Bodies, Healthy Minds’.
This is a great opportunity for students to unleash their creativity. It also presents them with the opportunity to be recognized at national, regional and worldwide level, thus giving them exposure to other cultures and boosting their confidence as well as providing them a valuable addition to their CVs and applications for further education.
